Hager led the Emerging Technology Community of Interest at ACT-IAC and explored a variety of topics by holding forums on technologies such as the internet of things, blockchain and artificial intelligence. He is also believed to have led the first forum about quantum computing in government. His goal is to raise government and industry awareness of the benefits of these technologies as well as the risks so that they can make informed decisions. He also plays a leadership role at the Association of Government Accountants, where he has spearheaded efforts to bring emerging technologies to the government’s financial management community.
