Name:
David Spirk
Title:
Chief Data Officer
Organization:
Defense Department
Data disruptor. Spirk has had an immeasurable impact on how warfighters use data to achieve mission objectives. He spearheaded the development and deployment of DOD’s first-ever Data Strategy, which was completed and operationalized in under 180 days. The strategy establishes a hierarchy of data stewardship and publishes high-value data assets in a federated catalog. Data is stored in a platform- and environment-agnostic manner, and it is portable, allowing all stakeholders to have immediate access to real-time intelligence that can impact missions and save lives. Thanks to Spirk, the entire DOD community has embraced the power of data.
