As IBM’s lead client partner for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Defense Health Agency, Newsome was instrumental in bringing intelligent automation and multi-cloud solutions to essential federal health missions. In 2020, he led efforts to improve the VA’s claims processing for veterans, fraud detection and asset management — freeing up precious resources for COVID-19 response. He also helped DHA deploy its Defense Healthcare Management Systems in the cloud at security Impact Level 5 and championed the delivery of internet-of-things services for tracking assets at several VA medical centers.
