IRS’ innovator. Under Sieger’s guidance, the IRS transitioned to telework while delivering critical support for the country’s economic relief efforts during the pandemic. She oversaw an unprecedented extension of the 2020 tax filing season and ensured that nearly 60,000 employees could work remotely as the IRS processed more than 162 million individual tax returns — 152 million of which were filed electronically. Sieger also oversaw the deployment of the Get My Payment app, which gave Americans the ability to monitor the status of their economic impact payments, in less than three weeks.
