*** There's still no clear path to a government funding bill when the current continuing resolution expires on Dec. 3, but it seems clear that another stopgap funding measure will be needed. Appropriations Chair Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) told reporters on Thursday that she hoped a second CR would only last through the end of the calendar year. However, many Republican appropriators are saying they expect the government to remain on temporary funding well into 2022.
*** The Department of Defense is 35% done with its implementation of the MHS Genesis electronic health record, according to Holly Joers, who leads the Defense Healthcare Management Systems Program Executive Office. Joers spoke at a Nov. 18 event hosted by the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization office.
