Exploring the world's shortest domain names
Inside the web universe of two-letter names.
A total of 676 websites have two-letter, dot-com domain names. Twenty-two of them, including that of Nextgov's new sister publication, Quartz (qz.com), are news websites. Nine people have their own personal websites on two-letter domains.
That leaves a whole bunch that are owned by various other types of online operations or are simply parked domains: owned but not utilized.
The folks at Quartz, which covers global business issues, have come up with a nifty tool to explore the world of tiny domains.
