Making loop-the-loops more intense, one headset at a time.

Six Flags theme park in Atlanta, Georgia, has introduced the world's first virtual-reality roller coaster.

How does it work? Riders are strapped with a Samsung Gear VR headset and a small box is added to the back of each roller coaster train that connects to the headsets. Once synced up, the box knows exactly where each headset is on the track during the ride, and can display your alien-fighting, virtual-reality experience accordingly.

Six Flags plans on introducing virtual-reality experiences at nine other theme parks.
