Video: How Energy-Efficient Is the Death Star?

That's no moon.
The Energy Department, in celebration of "The Force Awakens," invited four scientists from the agency's national labs to participate in a Google Hangout to discuss the theoretical energy use in the "Star Wars" series.
The group previously discussed potential energy sources for lightsabers and what kind of batteries R2-D2 needs to use.
This time around, the group members turned their attention to the Death Star. Is this planet-sized weapon even energy efficient? And was the thermal exhaust port actually useful for the station or just a serious design flaw?
