Top 60 Finalists For FBI’s Major IT Services Recompete Will Be Announced Soon

The FBI has been working on a recompete of its central IT services contract for more than 20 months but contracting officers said they are close to announcing a shortlist of vendors moving on to the second phase of the solicitation process.

The bureau began working on a recompete of IT Supplies and Support Services, also known as ITSSS or IT Triple-S, in March 2018. Since that time, the contract has gone through several procurement strategies, with officials ultimately opting for a blanket purchase agreement using vendors off the General Services Administration’s IT Schedule 70. The contract was also given a new name earlier this year, now dubbed IT Enterprise Contract Services, or ITECS.

Vendors submitted bids in July and FBI contracting officers are currently going through the proposals to narrow the pool to 60 bids for the second round of consideration, according to a post Monday on FedBizOpps.

“We have made great progress and appreciate your patience,” contracting officer Jeffrey Markovich wrote in the notice. “I anticipate the release of the ‘Top 60’ within the next few weeks along with instructions for Phase II.”

Once the selection process is complete, FBI contracting officials plan to award approximately 30 spots—20 to large businesses and 10 reserved for small businesses. FBI components will be able to issue task orders off the contract for everything including cloud-related professional services, mobile device solutions, security services like identity and access management and more.

The contract will have a one-year base period with four one-year add-on options.
