Waxman for breakfast, Doan for lunch
Attendees at the Security Industry Association’s 2007 Government Summit will be treated June 12 to opposite sides of a contentious Washington, D.C., power struggle.
On Tuesday morning, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., will give a breakfast keynote speech at the conference in downtown Washington. A few hours later, the keynote speaker for lunch will be General Services Administration chief Lurita Doan, who has been under investigation by Waxman since January for contracting irregularities and an alleged violation of the Hatch Act law that limits political activity in the government.
On Wednesday, Waxman will oversee a hearing titled "Continuing Allegations of Misconduct at the General Services Administration" and Doan will be the only witness.
