NASA has long helped in the battle against wildfires by contributing satellite data and tools to analyze the spread and impact of fires. The agency's unmanned Ikhana aircraft, for example, recently pinpointed hotspots in California.
Now the space agency has collected its fire and smoke imagery and data into a new Web site. The site features images of fires around the country and the world captured by NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer instruments on its Aqua and Terra satellites.
