Leave That Jewelry Home When Voting
One of the reasons states may be pulling the plug on electronic voting machines and going back to paper ballots may be the poorly designed interface of the machines.
Most manufacturers of e-voting machines calibrate the devices so that they are sensitive to the touch, mostly because it makes it easier for the disabled to cast their ballots, reports ComputerWorld. But that means an errant touch by a low hanging sleeve or a bracelet can, in theory, cause a citizen to cast a vote for the wrong candidate.
