New CIO for DHS' National Protection and Programs

Chase Garwood, the chief information officer for the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program, has been named the CIO for the National Protection and Programs Directorate, which is part of the Homeland Security Department. "With the addition of Chase, we continue to build our Directorate’s support infrastructure to enable us to meet our growing needs and to facilitate the execution of the mission. Please welcome Chase to his new role on NPPD’s executive team," according to an email sent out to the directorate's staff. Matt Coose had served as acting CIO for seven months.
