Alliant SB open for business

GSA sent out an announcement that Alliant Small Business is officially accepting task orders. In case you forgot, the contract was <a href="http://www.nextgov.com/nextgov/ng_20081218_2311.php">awarded</a> to 72 companies back in December. Today's announcement means the protest period is over and GSA is finally ready to move forward with part of the <a href="http://www.nextgov.com/nextgov/ng_20080306_3378.php">troubled</a> contract vehicle.

Today's announcement means the protest period is over and GSA is finally ready to move forward with part of the troubled contract vehicle.

The U.S. General Services Administration announced today the Alliant Small Business Information Technology contract is now available to accept task orders. The Notice to Proceed announcement, which occurred today, is the final step in the award process. GSA will begin training its customer agencies on use of the contract and issuing delegations of procurement authority. Federal customers interested in receiving training on Alliant Small Business are asked to send their requests to alliantsb@gsa.gov. The contract has a 5-year base period with one 5-year option and is valued at $15 billion.
