No holdup for these programs

Several agencies have moved forward with procurements despite the holdup over fiscal 2003 funding

Several agencies have moved forward with procurements recently despite the holdup over fiscal 2003 funding. Some of these include the following:

* The Coast Guard has awarded Anteon International Corp. a five-year blanket-purchase agreement, potentially worth $20 million, to support the Integrated Deepwater program. Deepwater was awarded to a joint venture established by Lockheed Martin Corp. and Northrop Grumman Corp. in July. The program will replace an aging fleet of cutters, aircraft, sensors and the supporting command, control, communications and surveillance systems.

* The Federal Aviation Administration announced it intends to award a sole-source contract, potentially worth $3.4 million over three years, to John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory for information security for the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI). The lab currently provides these services for FTI, which will integrate the management of multiple telecom networks, including satellite and phone services, for air traffic operations and administrative systems that are reaching the end of their useful lives. The FAA tapped Harris Corp. for the program in July.

* The FAA signed an agreement with Boeing Corp. to work together on global satellite navigation. The shared cost-type contract has a potential value of $46 million over 21 months. FAA's share will be about $23 million. Boeing will run demonstrations to assess the role of satellites in providing future communications, navigation, and surveillance capabilities in the National Airspace System.

* The General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center has awarded SRA International Inc. a task order, valued at $9.8 million over 18 months, under the Millenia Lite contract to help the Small Business Administration develop a disaster credit management system. The system will support workflow management, electronic file management and document generation functions.
