GSA awards Connections contracts

The General Services Administration has awarded 17 contracts under the Federal Technology Service's Connections program, which is an effort to replace expiring regional equipment and services contracts.

GSA announced the award today. It originally was to have been issued in May 2002.

Connections includes three categories:

* Products and services, including voice, data and video equipment, microwave systems, wire, cable, and installation.

* Support services, including a variety of technical and professional services.

* Solutions, encompassing infrastructure, integration and management

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts have a base period of three years and five one-year options.

More than half of the awards went to small businesses, said FTS Commissioner Sandra Bates in a statement announcing the award. "We are please to have assembled an impressive array of industry partners," she said.

The 17 companies awarded contracts and their categories are:

A&T Systems Inc.: equipment, support services, solutions. Booz Allen Hamilton: support services. Century Technologies Inc. (Centech): equipment, support services, solutions. EDS: support services, solutions. EPS Inc.: equipment, support services, solutions. Government Telecommunications Inc.: equipment, support services. Information Systems Support Inc.: equipment, support services, solutions. M.C. Dean Inc.: support services. MAI: support services. ManTech International Corp.: support services. NextiraOne Federal: equipment. Omega Technologies Inc.: support services. SAIC: support services, solutions. SBC DataComm Inc.: equipment, support services, solutions. SETA Corp.: support services. Veridian: support services. Verizon: equipment, support services, solutions.
