AT&T's federal sales chief departs

Don Teague, who just weeks ago was rumored to be a prime candidate to take over as head of AT&T Government Solutions, has left the company as part of its restructuring process.

AT&T spokesman Jim McGann confirmed today that Teague is no longer with the company. "AT&T corporately is taking a number of steps to streamline the organization," he said. "As a result of that, a number of people are leaving the business and Don is one of them."

Asked if Teague, AT&T's vice president of sales for civilian agencies, had been laid off, McGann said, "I don't want to characterize it other than what I said."

In its ongoing restructuring, AT&T promoted former Government Solutions president Chris Rooney to head its company-wide sales team, then promoted Lou Addeo — former vice president of homeland security and national information systems — to take Rooney's place.

Paul McQuillan was promoted to take over federal sales from Teague, whose last day was May 23, McGann said. "We're not going to miss a beat. We have a deep bench," he said.
