Sprint adds security to FTS 2001

New managed security services expand the options for agencies trying to keep data safe

Sprint has added new managed security services to the General Services Administration FTS 2001 contract. The services, including multitier security profiles, expand the options for agencies trying to keep data safe.

Sprint also has added private-key infrastructure, intrusion detection and increased user authentication capabilities to the contract.

FTS 2001 is one of the key telecommunications contracts that GSA manages. Originally awarded to Sprint and WorldCom Inc., other telecom firms have since joined it via a process called crossover.

GSA is developing a new contract vehicle called Networx that will replace FTS 2001.
