NASA awards Kennedy telecom pact
InDyne will get $190.7 million to provide communications systems for three programs at Kennedy Space Center.

NASA selected InDyne Inc. as the lead contractor for providing communication services to three programs at the space agency's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The Kennedy Integrated Communications Services contract, estimated at $190.7 million, calls for McLean, Va.-based InDyne to provide communication services to support: the Space Shuttle; Payload Carriers and Launch Services; and the International Space Station.
InDyne will provide hardware and software integration and development for voice, video and data communications. The KICS contract will also incorporate requirements from the Visual Information Technical Contract and the telephone service requirements of the Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA.
The contract has a five-year performance period, and is the first of five work packages contained in the Space Mission Communication and Data Services solicitation, which will succeed the current NASA Consolidated Space Operations contract.
Working with InDyne on the contract will be Verizon Federal, Inc., of Washington and Northrop Grumman Technical Services of Herndon, Va.
