Verizon Wireless joins GSA schedule

Now agencies can buy the company's products and services through GSA's governmentwide contracts.

Verizon Wireless has won a place on the General Service Administration's schedule contracts, allowing agencies to purchase its products and services via the schedules.

Verizon Wireless maintains a specialized government account team in Laurel, Md., including sales and support staff, said Michael Maiorana, vice president of federal government sales operations for the company.

"Verizon Wireless and our predecessor companies have done business with the government for more than 20 years," Maiorana said in a statement. The company has invested about $12 billion in the last three years to add new coverage, capacity and high-speed data technology to its network, he added.
