Software gets Groovier

Groove Networks Inc., maker of virtual office software used by agencies including the Defense Department and the Homeland Security Department, has upgraded its software with new security and data functions.

The software allows teams to collaborate as if they were in the same location. Groove's latest enhancements include native public key infrastructure support and centralized data auditing, among others.

The Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq is also a user, according to company officials.

The client side of the new version, Groove 3.0, was released in beta March 15. The server software is expected later this spring.
