Officials from the White Sands Missile Range have picked Qwest Communications International Inc. to provide data and voice communications under a five-year contract renewal.
Qwest will also provide the services to Fort Wingate, a missile launch site just east of Gallup, N.M., under the contract. White Sands is located near Las Cruces, N.M.
Qwest competes for the contract every five years through the U.S. Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command in Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
