The company once known as Wam!Net is now Netco Government Services Inc. John Heller is its new president.
Wam!Net Government Services Inc. has changed its name to Netco Government Services Inc. and appointed John Heller as its president, according to company officials.
Savvis Communications Corp. bought the commercial portion of Wam!Net, including the rights to the name, last year. Netco, comprised of the government side of the original business, will continue providing network services to federal customers, according to officials.
Heller replaces Mike Barbee, who has left the company.
Heller has been with the company for about three years in senior management positions, most recently as vice president of finance.
The company will not be changing its focus on providing networking services to federal government, he said. Netco has been and will remain a subcontractor on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet project, he added.
"Having these changes occur simultaneously gives us an opportunity to renew our commitment to our partners, customers and the marketplace as a whole," he said. "We will continue to be focused on the federal government with unparalleled commitment and dedication."
