Spectra Logic targets fed market
The developer of data storage products has a new division devoted to the federal government.
Spectra Logic Corp., a developer of data storage tools, is launching a new division to market its products to the federal government.
The company has had a government program under its corporate umbrella for two years, according to Brian Grainger, director of federal sales. He created Spectra Logic Federal, to be formally announced Monday, to build on the program's success, he said.
Company officials have tracked a 225 percent increase in agency installations since the program began, he said. Government sales account for about 25 percent of the company's North American revenue. The company's products are installed in about 230 agencies.
"Spectra Logic Federal adds a dedicated staff of systems engineers, direct and channel sales, [and] marketing and business development representatives" to the government effort, Grainger said.
