Texas tax agents stick by Sprint
The Texas Comptroller's Enforcement Division renewed its contract with Sprint Government Systems Division to provide state tax collectors with wireless access.
The Texas Comptroller's Enforcement Division has renewed its contract with Sprint Government Systems Division to provide state tax collectors with wireless access while in the field tracking down delinquent payments.
The contract allows field staff to connect via phone or tablet computer to the state's Enforcement Wireless Computing Solution, developed by Adea Solutions Inc. Employees use the system to access taxpayer information and document their collection activities.
Since the solution was deployed in April 2003, mobile access to central information and services has helped the state increase the collection of delinquent taxes by $13 million, according to Sprint.
