GTSI carries Aegis products
Aegis Assessments signed an agreement for GTSI to sell its wireless security products to government organizations.
Aegis Assessments officials have chosen GTSI to resell the company’s wireless security products to government agencies.
Aegis provides wireless security solutions for public safety agencies and commercial security companies. The company's pact with GTSI covers an initial term of six months and includes provisions for review and extension or termination, according to Aegis' April 5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The nonexclusive agreement covers Aegis' SafetyNet RadioBridge product.
The product allows "most two-way radios to be interconnected, regardless of their frequency or encryption scheme, and helps solve the current communication problem faced by public safety agencies caused by not having radio interoperability at the scene of an emergency," the SEC filing stated.
According to the SEC filing, Aegis officials have asked GTSI to petition to add SafetyNet RadioBridge to the U.S. Communities program, a nationwide sourcing initiative for public-sector procurement officials.
Aegis’ government customers include the Homeland Security Department’s Office of Domestic Preparedness, according to a March SEC filing.
Officials at DHS, the National Institute of Standards and Technology and other agencies have been pursuing interoperable communications technologies for first responders.
