AT&T picks new Networx head

Henry Beebe, who left AT&T last year to join the Defense Information Systems Agency, is returning to his former employer to serve as chief engineer and leader of the capture team preparing the company's bid for the upcoming Networx contract.

Beebe will replace Robert Collet, who resigned in May.

"We're delighted to have Hank back on the team in this critical role," said Lou Addeo, president of AT&T Government Solutions, in a written statement. Beebe had served as vice president of AT&T Government Solutions' professional services before leaving for DISA.

"Networx is all about the convergence of telecommunications and information technology," Addeo said. "Hank's lengthy and successful IT career in government and industry makes him the ideal person to lead our Networx team as it prepares for this convergence."

At DISA, Beebe was a systems engineering transformation executive and technical adviser to the program director for Net-Centric Enterprise Services. Before joining AT&T in 2002, he spent 21 years at TRW, a systems integrator that has since been acquired by Northrop Grumman. He also previously served 22 years in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
