Dell sweeps the military academies

Dell has won high-profile contracts to provide computers to the incoming classes at all three military academies.
Dell's federal division will provide a total of 3,600 laptop and notebook computers to the class of 2009 at the Army's U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
The Air Force Academy chose Dell’s Latitude 610 notebook computer with Wi-Fi networking for its students. West Point will equip its incoming class with Dell Precision mobile workstations with wireless networking.
The Naval Academy plans to supply its students with Dell Precision workstations, which run on Intel Pentium 4 processors capable of 64-bit computing. The workstation package includes 17-inch flat-panel monitors.
“The military academies train their cadets and midshipmen -- our future leaders -- on the latest, most relevant technology and encourage them to use it in innovative ways,” said Troy West, vice president of Dell Federal.
