Networx bidders get extension
The General Services Administration has extended the deadlines for the two Networx contracts by 30 days.
Vendors bidding on the Networx telecommunications contracts will have more time to prepare their bids. The General Services Administration has extended the deadlines for the two contracts by 30 days.
The original deadline was Aug. 3 for Networx Universal, a contract to provide widespread network and communication services. The deadline for Networx Enterprise, which will cover more localized offerings, had been set for Aug. 5.
GSA spokeswoman Mary Alice Johnson confirmed the deadline extensions. The new deadline for responses to the Networx Universal request for proposals is Sept. 6. Networx Enterprise responses are due by Sept. 8. The deadline on both days is 1 p.m. local time.
GSA plans to award the Networx contracts in April 2006. Then there will be a transition period as agencies move services from the expiring FTS 2001 and Metropolitan Area Acquisition vehicles and onto Networx.
