TeleContinuity gets Booz Allen deal

Booz Allen will offer TeleContinuity's backup telephone voice service to the federal market.

Booz Allen Hamilton and TeleContinuity have formed an agreement under which Booz Allen will offer TeleContinuity's backup telephone voice service to the federal market.

TeleContinuity also signed a contract with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, part of the Treasury Department. TeleContinuity specializes in telecommunications continuity of operations using intelligent communications routing, a switching technology and a geographically dispersed network to keep communications flowing after a natural or manmade disaster.

"We've examined the TeleContinuity voice solution over the last 18 months and it addresses a critical need, namely, a voice solution that is dependable in the event of a telecommunications outage," said Douglas Himberger, a Booz Allen vice president, in a written statement.

TeleContinuity subscribers can reroute their calls during building evacuations, service cutoffs or other telecom outages. The system allows users to reroute incoming calls anywhere to any device, including landlines, mobile phones, notebook computers or handheld devices.
