Northrop Grumman wins new NetCents bid

The company helps the Air Force integrate telephone and network operations.

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $19 million contract to merge the Air Force’s telephone and network operations, company officials said today.

Northrop Grumman’s Information Technology business unit will use commercial hardware and software to build a system for managing telecommunications at more than 100 Air Force sites worldwide. The new enterprise system will consolidate the service’s several voice and network systems and transfer data to an automated, centralized computer-based system, according to an Aug. 18 Northrop Grumman statement.

The company and its seven industry partners will also provide training for system administration. The task order under the Air Force’s Network-Centric Solutions contract runs through December 2006.
