GSA awards Preferred analysis contract to KPMG

The General Services Administration awarded KPMG an analysis contract to gauge how the agency’s Preferred program is working.

The General Services Administration awarded KPMG a 30-day, $192,500 analysis contract to gauge how the agency’s GSA Preferred program is working. GSA issued a earlier this month.Under the agreement, KPMG will analyze GSA Preferred, report on how it integrates with other systems and determine whether another program should be implemented.The final report is due Jan. 5, 2006, a GSA spokeswoman said. The first meeting related to the study will be held Tuesday.The program, formerly known as 3GS, is an IT modernization project that would replace out-of-date systems that track finances, project status and procurement cycles of IT business within GSA’s Federal Technology Service. It is intended to result in more efficient work with customer agencies and industry to achieve better service and cost savings.
