Harris picks Netco as FTI subcontractor

Netco will be responsible for equipment maintenance and support for the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure project.

Harris has chosen Netco Government Services to be a primary subcontractor on the Federal Aviation Administration's telecommunications modernization project. Harris is leading work on the effort, called FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI).

Netco, a network design, implementation, operations and maintenance provider, will be responsible for equipment maintenance and support, assisted by SBC Communications and Port Grace Development, an Alaska native-owned company.

“We are very proud to have Netco as a key partner working with us on this contract,” said John O’Sullivan, FTI Program vice president at Harris, in a written statement. "Netco’s long-standing reputation for delivering on large performance-based, mission-critical projects in the federal government sector makes them a perfect partner for Harris and the FAA.”

Netco will provide network engineers and technicians at critical sites to support 5,000 FAA locations nationwide.

“The FTI project is a significant opportunity for Netco,” said John Heller, Netco president and chief executive officer. “Since the success of the FTI program is important to the continued safety of the air-traveling public in the United States, meeting the FAA’s expectations for the program is a top priority."
