Treasury picks Convera for search
Integration with Microsoft's SharePoint is a key aspect of Convera's strategy.
The Treasury Department will use RetrievalWare, a search product from Convera, to expand its ability to search documents across its information and document management system.
Treasury will integrate RetrievalWare's search capabilities with Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal Server, allowing officials to search hundreds of millions of documents. The combined products will also feature automated categorization and the ability to profile and share information in real time based on a document’s content.
The integration with SharePoint is an important element of Convera's strategy to expand enterprise search capabilities, said Kurt Gastrock, the company’s chief operating officer. As the number of organizations using SharePoint grows, the ability to search the data stored on such servers becomes correspondingly important, he said.
