Qwest acquires OnFiber Communications
The acquisition adds more network facilities to Qwest's stable, opening 23 metropolitan areas outside the company's 14-state local-service territory.
Qwest Communications has completed the acquisition of OnFiber Communications for $107 million in cash.
The acquisition expands Qwest's ability to offer network services, adding 23 metropolitan areas to the 14-state region in which the company offers local telecommunications services.
"This makes Qwest easier to do business with because OnFiber gives us an efficient method of delivering services to more business customers in dozens of markets” nationwide, said Tom Richards, executive vice president of Qwest's business markets group, in a written statement.
The company also plans to offer its services to OnFiber's customer base, which includes government organizations and large businesses, he added.
