Pentagon to contractors: Meet DOD InfoSec standards

The Defense Department is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to address training requirements that apply to contractor personnel who perform information assurance functions for DOD. The provides that contractor personnel accessing information systems must meet applicable training and certification requirements.The changes would apply DOD Directive 8570.1, Information Assurance Training, Certification and Workforce Management, and DOD Manual 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, to contractors.The deadline for comments to be submitted in writing is March 23; all comments should reference DFARS Case 2006-D023.
