Performance Institute starts InnoGOV site

The interactive site asks users to share innovations and insight to improve federal management.

The Performance Institute, a research and government improvement group, has started InnoGOV.org, an interactive Web site where visitors can share insights and recommendations on federal management issues with a focus on performance management.

President Barack Obama has said making agencies more effective and accountable would be a high priority for his administration.

The site, launched Jan. 21, is a project of the institute’s Innovations in Government effort, which would also host forums and webinars on federal performance management issues, said Jon Desenberg, the institute’s senior policy director.

“Citizen expectations are very high for Obama’s administration, and we want to ensure that federal managers are openly communicating their successes with each other,” he said.

The institute said it created InnoGOV.org using recommendations from the Government Performance Coalition. Its members include the Association of Government Accountants, the Council for Excellence in Government, IBM Center for the Business of Government, the National Academy of Public Administration, the Partnership for Public Service and the Senior Executives Association.
