Networx celebrating two years, 165 awards
Activity on the huge telecommunications contracts ranges from a value of a few thousand to millions of dollars.
It was two years last month since the General Services Administration named the winning carriers on its Networx Universal contract (Networx Enterprise’s second anniversary comes up May 31), and so far agencies have made at least 165 fair-opportunity awards, according to GSA and contract-holder reports.
Networx awards must be made as a result of fair-opportunity decisions, GSA Networx Transition Manager Richard Williams said in a recent summary.
In transitioning from the expiring FTS2001 telecommunications contract to the replacement Networx contract, agencies may not simply select their current provider. Under Federal Acquisition Regulations, each contract-holder of an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract such as Networx, must be given a chance to change their minds.
The total value of the Networx awards is about $3.4 billion over the life of the awards.
What follows is GSA’s list of fair-opportunity decisions and, because GSA’s summary omits some awards, which contract winners issued statements about, several additional awards are included in the list.
To determine the value of the contracts — all of which have four base years and three two-year options — GSA uses the estimated annual revenue from FTS2001 contracts.
