Federal 100: Casey Coleman
Casey Coleman
Chief Information Officer
General Services Administration
When federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra challenged GSA to lead the way on cloud computing, Coleman responded. She put together a team and partnered with GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service to develop and deliver a cloud storefront, Apps.gov, in less than five months.
Coleman worked across agency boundaries to build momentum for cloud computing, and thanks to her efforts, the concept has moved from an obscure technical topic to the leading strategic innovation being discussed in the federal IT community.
Coleman "has not only set the vision for cloud computing but helped the federal government understand what cloud is, what it can be and how it can be utilized within agencies," said Doug Bourgeois, director of the Interior Department’s National Business Center.
