Federal 100: Katie Lewin

Katie Lewin
Chief of Staff for the Chief Information Officer, Program Manager for the Cloud Computing Initiative
General Services Administration

In addition to providing administrative support to the General Services Administration's chief information officer, Lewin helped develop and launch the Apps.gov Web site, a procurement tool for cloud computing and social media services.

She worked with the members of the Cloud Computing Executive Steering Committee and Cloud Computing Advisory Council to address security, standards, communications and operational issues for cloud computing. The groups also established a governance and operations infrastructure for the technology.

"Katie played a very important role as the program manager for the federal cloud initiative,” said Casey Coleman, GSA’s CIO. "Katie has stepped in to establish collaboration between various stakeholders and made significant progress in advancing cloud computing as a priority for the government."
