Mobile SSA statistics: Agency wants an app for that
The Social Security Administration surveys vendors about creating iPhone applications.
The Social Security Administration is looking for vendor assistance in developing software that would make its statistical records available on the iPhone and other mobile devices.
SSA published a Sources Sought notice on May 7 on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site asking for responses from qualified vendors with experience in developing iPhone applications.

“SSA is seeking contractor support with developing a mobile iPhone application that permits the public to access select periodic statistical records of SSA consistent with the Office of Management and Budget's direction for transparency and open government,” the notice states.
Responses are due by May 17
