Just three years after the Federal Cloud Computing Strategy was created, cloud computing has changed the federal IT landscape, with an increasing number of agencies leaping to the cloud to realize efficiencies, increase capabilities and spur innovation.
However, the government is still in the early stages of cloud computing adoption, and despite successful standardization efforts like FedRAMP that have bolstered cloud’s credibility in the federal space, the government has work to do to ensure security, interoperability and portability within and among its federal cloud environments.
