Video: This Smart Device Controls Your Stove to Prevent House Fires
This device stops that stir-fry before it ignites.
While many people are reluctant to switch to smart house devices due to their prohibitive cost, perhaps some users would be willing to shell out for a smart device that could help prevent house fires.
The iGuardStove Intelligent plugs into your electric range and uses motion sensors to automatically shut off your stove when you walk away from your stove for more than 5 minutes, preventing accidents caused by forgetfulness.
Come back to the stove and the device will switch back on, letting you resume cooking.
The cost is steep, however. The device costs about $490 dollars, but that could be a small price to pay for peace of mind.
