Here's How to Use Apple Pay Cash

One of the more exciting features of Apple's latest operating system is Apple Pay Cash. It's different from the standard Apple Pay, which lets users pay for purchases at a store with their iPhone.

Apple Pay Cash is a peer-to-peer payment system, similar to Square Cash or Venmo. It's excellent for splitting the tab at dinner or for demanding gas money from your passengers during a road trip because it's all done through iMessage instead of a separate app.

Interested users will need to be running iOS 11.2 on their iPhone and have two-factor authentication enabled (though everyone should have that anyway). 

To start, open the Wallet app and tap the "Pay with Cash" card, and then tap "Set Up." From there, you will need to verify your identity. Do this by tapping the "i " button in the bottom corner, select "Verify Identity" and follow the prompts. Once that's done, add money to your card.

Now, when you get an iMessage from a friend asking for $20 for last week's brunch, tap on the Apple Pay Cash icon within iMessage, enter the correct amount of money and press pay to send them the cash. For the final step, users must approve the transaction with Touch ID, Face ID or by inputting a passcode.
