DISA's $902M Comms Contract Hit with Protest

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is protesting the Defense Information Systems Agency’s award of a $902 million communications infrastructure contract.

DISA awarded the Communications Capacity Service Contract, referred to as CSCII, to Knight Point Systems, which held the previous generation of this contract, valued at just under $300 million. The contract covers procurement of communications infrastructure like routers and switches, as well as enterprise design support and ongoing management of new infrastructure.

DISA made the award on Feb. 16 and posted the announcement to FedBizOpps on Feb. 20.

Hewlett Packard submitted a protest to the Government Accountability Office on the same day the notice was posted, asserting that DISA did not treat all offerors equally.

A representative from Hewlett Packard said the company would not comment on its reasons for protesting, per company policy. The outside counsel representing Hewlett Packard in this protest also declined to comment.

GAO has 100 days from the protest filing to issue a decision, which puts the deadline at May 31.
