GSA Awards $2.5 Billion Payroll and Work Scheduling Contract

Two industry teams won a $2.5 billion contract Thursday to provide payroll and work scheduling software services to federal agencies.

The first team includes Carahsoft Technology Corporation, Immix Technology, and Deloitte Consulting. The second team includes Grant Thornton, The Arcanum Group, and CGI Federal, according to a press release.

The 10-year blanket purchase agreement contract is part of the General Services Administration’s NewPay initiative, which aims to make federal payroll, leave and work scheduling services more efficient and user-friendly.

A blanket purchase agreement essentially allows agencies to order goods and services from pre-vetted vendors when needed.

“GSA is excited to deliver increased value to taxpayers and offer our partners in government a modern, efficient and effective approach to payroll through NewPay,” GSA Administrator Emily Murphy said in a statement.

Federal Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent called the award “an important step in our shared services journey as part of the President’s Management Agenda.”
