Draft Solicitation for Multibillion DEOS Coming This Month
GSA signaled it is close to issuing a draft request for quotations for the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract.
The General Services Administration expects to issue a draft request for quotations this month for the Pentagon’s Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract, which was once valued at up to $8 billion.
The two agencies partnered together to revamp the Pentagon’s DEOS strategy in October, and the two agencies now anticipate “establishing a single-award blanket purchase agreement under Schedule 70,” according to an updated FBO posting Tuesday.
The posting states GSA intends to issue a draft RFQ by Jan. 31 for industry to review and provide feedback on. A final RFQ is expected in late February or March.
Pentagon officials told reporters in October the DEOS procurement would be split into three chunks, with the goal of awarding a contract or contracts for each chunk. The first phase dealt with commercial hardware and software tools focused on communication and collaboration, and represents the most immediate need for the Defense Department. The second and third phases will focus on voice, video and other services.
Defense Department Chief Information Officer Dana Deasy said in October the revamped DEOS procurement would better help the Pentagon meet its multi-cloud strategy whereby different clouds handle different missions.
