Alan Thomas to advise investment firm on tech
The General Services Administration's former top acquisition service official has a new job at an investment firm's cloud and cyber solutions company.
The General Services Administration's former acquisition chief has joined the advisory board of a private investment firm that also owns a cloud solutions provider.
Alan Thomas, formerly commissioner or the Federal Acquisition Service at GSA, is now on the advisory board of defense- and government-focused investment firm Enlightenment Capital, the firm announced Nov. 12.
Enlightenment Capital provides capital and strategic support to middle tier companies in the aerospace, defense and government sectors.
Thomas will also join the executive team at Trowbridge and Trowbridge, a McLean, Va.-based provider of cloud, cyber and next-gen digital solutions to defense, intelligence and federal civilian markets, backed by Enlightenment Capital.
Thomas resigned from GSA in October. He became FAS commissioner in 2017, becoming a catalyst for several of the agency's higher profile modernization processes and technical improvements, such as a contract writing system, schedules consolidation and e-commerce portal efforts.
