Industry leaders agree to get together to market data mining technology

MicroStrategy Inc., one of the hottest players in the data mining field, has signed an agreement with GTSI, a leading computer reseller in the federal market, to "aggressively" market MicroStratregy's Intelligent E-businesses Solutions to the Defense Department.

MicroStrategy technology helps organizations extract meaningful information from raw data. It helps users uncover patterns and preferences and broadcasts the results to users via several technologies, including World Wide Web pages and wireless communications. The reseller agreement with GTSI follows a similar agreement MicroStrategy signed with Unisys Federal Systems earlier this month.

Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy's chief operating officer, said in a statement that the agreement with GTSI "will be invaluable to government departments and agencies that are trying to fully leverage their information assets in order to make better, cost-effective decisions."

Dendy Young, chairman and chief executive of GTSI, described in the statement MicroStrategy's technology as a "powerful new platform [that]...will help agencies provide better CRM [customer relationship management] and e-business services."

Robert Silverman, vice president of MicroStrategy Government said the deal with GTSI stands as "yet another example of how the government market is rapidly embracing" the company's data mining techniques.
