New Pentagon regulation focuses on evolutionary technology approaches
The Transportation Department on Monday released an updated set of geographic databases of transportation facilities nationwide.
The National Transportation Atlas Databases 2000 CD-ROM contains data from all of DOT's operating units. It provides transportation planners and researchers with valuable information for more than 20 data sets, including the National Highway Planning Network, public use airports, railway networks and congressional district boundaries.
It is available in DOS/Windows and Unix formats from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics at (202) 366-DATA or www.bts.gov/btsprod.
The databases most often are used for research, analysis and decision-making across all modes of transportation, according to the department. They are most useful at the national level but have major applications at regional, state and local levels throughout the transportation community.
